What’s the difference between IMAP and POP?
IMAP email is a type of email service which keeps emails stored on the server (our end). This allows you to synchronise email across several different devices, and you’ll always be able to access all your emails. IMAP is what we use for our email hosting.
POP works a little differently: it downloads the emails onto your device and then, in most cases, removes them from the server. This means that once you’ve download an email on one device you can’t get the same email on another device – as it’s has been deleted from the server. This is why IMAP is the preferred way of getting mail across desktop, tablet and smartphones.

Yes, you will need domain name to start email hosting. Our Starter and Pro email hosting packages come packed with all the features you’ll need for a single domain. If you require email hosting for more than one domain, you’ll need separate email hosting packages for each. Alternatively, you could save money by using our MultiSite hosting package. What if I need more space?
We’re confident our email hosting packages offer plenty of space for most regular email users. However, should you often receive emails with large attachments and you prefer to the keep them stored on our email servers, over time you may find you’ll need more space.
Should that ever happen, we also offer “email top-ups” which will further increase your mailbox size by either 1GB, 2GB or 5GB, starting from as little as £20 a year. Our email hosting plans grow with you – when you need it.
